So...

NY is AWESOME. It's so busy and there's so much to look at and so many people! I'm glad I don't live there but it's definitely a fun place to visit. I got to see Ground Zero and the Statue of Liberty and take the Subway and shop in a Whole Foods. So I consider the trip to be a success of epic proportions.

I'm going to be posting a new fics soon and am actually forcing myself to write again. It might be a while before I finish a new fic but thankfully I do have a bunch saved up to post.

Am I the only slash fan that can enjoy canon het? I see other people's journals and rants and it just baffles me. My pairing isn't spoiled because one of the characters sleeps with or flirts with or has a relationship with a female in canon.

Also, I'm not trying to invite anyone to bitch at me because I don't see how it ruins their "one true pairing" or whatever you call your 'ship. /end rant.

It's not just you, don't worry.

Well, personally, it's not the canon het that bothers me. It's the retconning, the plotholes, the OOCness (especially on Elle's part), and how contrived it all was. I wouldn't have had as much of a problem with it if had been Eden instead of Elle - because the personality of the girl that we saw in that episode resembled Eden's much, much more than it did Elle's - but that would have brought along its own set of plotholes as well. I'm just irritated that the writers seem to be doing everything in their power to make poor, woobie Gabriel completely blameless, and sacrificing the timelines and characterizations they'd previously established in order to do that.

Yeah, I think I'm with [livejournal.com profile] cookie_simone. It's not the canon het itself that bothers me, it's how they're doing it. But I've always said that Heroes sucks at writing romance in general - other than Nathan/Heidi, Niki/DL and Bennet/Sandra (the couples that were already established so they didn't have to 'work' at) I don't think they've ever had a romantic relationship on the show that I've bought into. :/
